How to play Brassneck

Brassneck is a daily rhythm game in the survivor style. You are a one-man band busking on a seaside promenade at night, and the pigeons, seagulls, wasps and the council want you gone. You only walk: drag anywhere on the screen, or use WASD or the arrow keys. Your instruments play themselves on the beat, and every note is an attack.

Pests drop pennies. Pick them up to score and to fill your level bar. Each level-up offers three cards: a new instrument for the band, a level for one you already have, or a piece of Busker's Kit such as Wellies, a Megaphone or a Flask of Tea. Max an instrument and carry its partner kit and it evolves.

The music is built from your band. Start with one instrument and every pick adds a part, so every gig is a different song. Fill the Crowd meter and the band builds for a bar, then drops: an Encore that clears the prom. The Gull King lands at 2:30 and Councillor Hush arrives at 5:00. Outplay him before last orders.

Brassneck FAQ

How long is a gig?

About five minutes, seven at most. If your phone rings, the game pauses, and you can carry on later the same day.

Is it the same night for everyone?

Yes. Same tune, same starting instrument, same pests at the same times. Your path and your picks make the difference, which keeps the daily leaderboard fair.

Can I play more than once a day?

Your first gig counts. After it you can replay tonight unranked, play past nights from the calendar, or try free play with any instrument you have unlocked.
