British spelling, fair clues, done before the kettle boils. Nibble brings you an original 5x5 crossword every Monday to Saturday and a 7x7 Big Nibble on Sunday. The short definitions use everyday vocabulary, with no cryptic tricks, abbreviations or proper-name answers.
Tap a square and type its letter. Tap again to switch across and down. The letters advance along the word for you. Use the clue arrows to move between words, or open All clues. The clock counts up without a time limit.
Stuck? Check word adds 10 seconds and tells you if a completed word is right. Reveal letter adds 30 seconds and fills the selected square. Pressing Finish on a full grid that is not quite right adds 5 seconds. A finished crossword starts from 1,000 points minus one for each second, including assists, with at least 100 points for any finish.
